Pinata Day & Cinco de Mayo

IMG_8508-768x1024Did you know tomorrow is National Pinata Day? Well, I’m sure you know Cinco de Mayo is in a few weeks, so talking pinatas seems quite timely. I’ve always loved a pinata, but once I discovered Lula Flora, I found myself looking for ways to incorporate them into a party or a simple Tex-Mex dinner.

Lula Flora creates customized pinatas, which are perfect for place settings, party favors or surprise gifts. They’ve gone beyond the expected shapes, so if you can dream it they can make it.il_570xN.951108598_iol9 il_570xN.1081999309_340s il_570xN.1141572220_a0p8il_570xN.980193198_hr13 il_570xN.1161818046_a5fsil_570xN.925694706_pg8j il_570xN.1205767933_mdzp IMG_8529-e1461274864488-768x1024So if your fiesta needs a little kick, order some custom pinatas and they’ll be the figurative and literal “hit” of your party!

Party Means Piñata!

As the weather begins to warm up and we all want to be outside more….I can’t help but think of outdoor parties. That leads me to one of the all time great party components. The piñata!!!!

And, they don’t just have to be for Cinco de Mayo anymore. You can spell out names, have a table runner, a number or a character. Katie Franklin has made a business out of it….check out her site here.

What is more fun than letting your guests take a swing at a festive piñata and having candy or small gifts spill out everywhere?!

Did you take a swing at a piñata as a kid? Super fun!
Think like a kid when you plan your next party! Order a piñata!

Is the Party Over?

Or has it just begun?
With only hours to spare, we made it “South of the Border” ahead of the big Northeast blizzard. Grateful to have reached sun and surf, I succumbed to the pace and let myself relax.
Time away from everyday demands and the post holiday cleanup, I was able to look back at 2010 and recognize the many blessings that came my way. Not the least of which was gazing at the Pacific Ocean in 80 degree weather as the year came to an end.
Rested and having had time to reflect, I’ve returned home resolved to:
Enjoy the moment.
Watch the sunset.
Stay in touch.
Drink more water.
Go to bed earlier.
Read more books.
Do more yoga.
Plan ahead.
Relax when the plan changes.
Laugh more.
Keep on blogging.
What are you resolving to do in 2011? Let’s get the party started!!
