Continuing with my Valentine’s theme….I just had to share these darling, heart-motif linens, designed and made in the USA by Biscuit. Founded in 2012 by Bailey McCarthy, Biscuit has filled a void in the bedding market by creating luxury, quality bedding with fun designer prints.

Biscuit has a wide range of colorful, stylish sheets, duvets and pillows in many patterns, but today it’s all about the hearts! Available in blue and pink.Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 7.48.29 PMYou may have seen this photo in the February issue of House Beautiful. You’d have to get a magnifying glass to see the Grace pattern, named for Bailey’s daughter, on the bed, but you can see how well it works overall when incorporated into a sophisticated setting .Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 8.09.22 PM Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 8.30.05 PMScreen Shot 2017-01-12 at 7.48.35 PM Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 8.32.32 PMLest you think the heart print only belongs in a young girls room….I have it on my master bed and smile everytime I pull back the covers.

Sweet dreams!

Magnolia House – The New B&B by Fixer Upper

FixerUpper_BB_002Are you a fan of HGTV’s Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines?Artboard-2@2xIf you are, then you already love their special brand of grit and creativity, as they help families realize their dreams of owning a beautiful home – which was previously a “fixer upper”. If you don’t, then you should definitely check out their highly rated series or visit them in Waco, Texas (home of Baylor University, where my brother and sister-in-law went to school), where they have Magnolia Market at the Silos and are about to start taking reservations at Magnolia House.

Magnolia House, built in the 1800s, was one of the options given to a family for a potential “fixer upper”. When the family selected a different option, Joanna began thinking about renovating it for their own family as a get away and as a place where visitors could stay. I think there have been lots of pilgrimages to Magnolia Market and how fun would it be to enjoy a night experiencing the Gaines’ special sense of style and hospitality.

Almost Cinco de Mayo

Are you as ready for Friday as I am?! I was actually deep in the heart of Texas this past week, helping my mom. She was in a serious car accident and spent 2 weeks in the hospital and will have a long road of healing ahead. There was a silver lining though. I love “going home” and when do you actually get 6 uninterrupted days with your mother? Pretty much the perfect Mother’s Day gift for me. But, as I was there to help out and not to hang out….I didn’t have a single TexMex meal. Not a one. Unless you count the spicy guacamole I kept bringing back from Whole Foods. I have a thing about guacamole. You could say I’m addicted.

Which is why it just seems perfect, as this weekend is upon us, to give a little nod to my Texas roots and give a shout out for Cinco de Mayo. Margaritas, anyone?!

Do you like your tacos mild or spicy? Margaritas on the rocks or frozen? Beer with a lime or a lime fresca (you gotta try this recipe)? Whatever your desire…..I hope your weekend is hot, hot, hot!!!
