As the sun dips down and evening emerges, you need more than fireflies to light your way. If you’re dining or relaxing al fresco, hang some lanterns in the trees or line the walk with luminaries.
There is something so magical about a warm summer night…lingering outside, with little more than moonlight.
Last one in…turn off the lights.
How do you light your way at night?

lights on the back porch are strung and ready to light, lanterns with candles and torches, the more candlelight the better!
guess those round spheres must be calling your name to come back!

We have several lanterns that are set out on our patio and candles in hurricanes to light our way as the sun slips down.
I so enjoy evenings that turn to night on our patio. This summer its been too oppressive to spend much time out there. Hope for a cool down soon.

Ohhh what a nice surprise to see a couple of my photos here.Thank you. Those spheres from Mariani are calling your name! XO
I love luminaries, and strings of round bulbs overhead!
Oh, the 2nd photo reminds me of my wedding
..I wanted so many round lanterns hanging from the ceiling of the large outdoor pavilion that the reception was in that it just looked like a "starry night" versus seeing any draped ceiling…love that feeling lanterns evoke!!
I love those tiki torches lit with real fire! These are all such gorgeous and chic examples of night time summer style!
Never too many lights for us here -many candle lanterns outside year-round. They look just as pretty in the summer, as they do sparkling off the snow in winter!
Ahhh so beautiful! Now only if weren't a 100 degrees around here and a tree didn't just fall across the backyard…but I will daydream of these fantastic images!!!
I love this! I am looking for some interesting ways to light my cocktail party in a couple of weeks!
Gorgeous! It's amazing how much a little night lighting can change a look…

this makes me want to dress up and have a pashmina wrapped around me with a glass of champagne in hand. 🙂

OOh! I'm all about mood and atmosphere. This makes me want to throw a party!
Hi All!
Just back from a 10+ hour car trip to New Hampshire to drop our oldest (who's really still very young) at camp! Somehow the summer has been busier than the school year.
Thanks so much for all your comments! I really do have a thing for orb shaped lights!!
Night night!
Elizabeth
