Is it really Monday already? This month is flying by and is about to get busier.
Our long awaited, much talked about renovation begins today and I may need to light a few candles to find a little calm amongst the rubble.
I love how just a flicker of candlelight can change the ambiance of a situation. Dinner by candlelight seems romantic. A bath by candlelight feels decadent. And, don’t we all look just a little bit better by the gentle light of a candle?
So, if you find yourself running through your week…take a few minutes to light a candle at the end of the day and see if you don’t feel calmer.
What’s flickering in your world?

I am a huge proponent of candlelight.
I just loaded up on votives for the holidays and they do help to add a sparkle to one's home.

It's funny the affect lighting a candle can have on our mood. I bought the prettiest candle for my bath at Anthropologie and I've decided to treat myself and light it daily as I put on my make up and dry my hair! It's the little things, right? xo
Yes so agree, candlelight makes everything (and everyone) look better. I am a big candleaholic, have them all over the house and light them pretty much on a daily basis. They are especially beautiful during the holidays with all the magic and sparkle.
Congrats on day one of your reno!! I cannot say I am envious but it IS very exciting!
Beautiful idea, good luck, so excited for you!
I'm a huge fan of candles…and I personally believe candles, based on the color, can used to help to influence a particular emotion, concept and/or personal desire. Great suggestion! Enjoy your week. Cheers.iela
Oh, how exciting, but stressful, too. I can see why you would want to light a few calming candles. Good luck with your renovation project. Keep us posted on how it unfolds… And I can't believe how fast this year is flying, too. Time to slow down and enjoy the flicker of candlelight!
Happy Week, Elizabeth!
Need a bevy of candles here! Wishing you a speedy renovation and can't wait to see photos!

One of my favorite things … candlelight! I have a drawer full of candles at the ready and love to stock up on autumn scents right now like Caramel Apple … mmmmm 😉 What a lovely hurricane!

I recognize this from And George. It's so beautiful!!!!
SO true! I posted a very similar entry a few Sundays ago. Candles help me relieve the Sunday blues.
Nice job!
Candle, bath and wine usually helps me feel calm 🙂 Good luck with the reno….we are knee deep in ours and about to escape to the beach for 10 days….and I am starting to get worried….I swear my builder called me 20 times today with questions….glad to have someone to commiserate with!
Congratulations on the beginning of your renovation. I hope everything goes smoothly…and I do love candlelight.
Best…Victoria
Oh how exciting!! Even though I hate the disruption, I do so love having a project!! And I agree – candlelight makes everything just a bit more romantic and easier to handle!!
