Across the country tomorrow night, Fashion’s Night Out, will be taking place. Created in 2009, as the brain child of Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, it was designed to give the fledgling fashion industry a much needed shot in the arm. It has now become an annual event. While it seems (at least to me) that the larger stores in NYC are dialing it back, I have noticed that more towns seem to be participating.
I wrote about my FNO experience in 2010 in NYC here, and wish I could join the festivities this year. But, it falls on the first day of school. So, the fashions I’ll be coordinating are for my little boys!
I love the list above, found in this month’s Matchbook Magazine. If you’ve ever struggled with the pronunciation of some of these designers (I definitely have), this breaks it all down.
Here’s to supporting our fashion industry….whatever your style!
I'm going to my first FNO in DC & am pretty excited! Good luck with school, we started yesterday. How is it fall already?!
Oh, I really wanted to go into Boston for this but sadly I am working. 🙁 You going into the city? xo
There's a show in Boston but sadly it will be going on without me, to much going on in my life right now. Love the primer above since I too have struggled with names.
Enjoy your week!

FNO will be passing me by this year, too – in years past my team organized camera crews to film the action in Nordstrom stores across the country. One year later and I may not make it out of my workout clothes today! A dear friend touches down in NYC today for FNO and Fashion Week so I'll be getting my fashion fix through her.
Hope your boys have a terrific first day of school! XOXO
So much fun, but I know how important that back to school fare is! Have fun. It really is nice getting back to a schedule.
Happy Wednesday, Elizabeth.

This is too funny, Elizabeth, and we're in the same boat having just packed our boys off the school today. Seems such a shame that they couldn't schedule FNO next week.

We had first day of school here as well – sad to be missing FNO as well but the little ones come first!! And loved this cute pronunciation guide too!
I'm really excited. I'm going into the City this year so thank you for that list. Would have loved to see you!

You will be the best dressed at the bus stop I bet! Good luck to the guys on their back to school first day.

Love the pronunciation guide!!!! too cute! I am so excited to be in NYC for Fashion night tomorrow night!!!
I know, such bad timing for us with school age kids, at least we can follow from afar 🙂
xx
thanks! I needed that! well, not really since I don't own and probably never will any of these designers!!! still hate to mispronounce words;)

I love the pronunciation cheat sheet. You hate to own a designer brand and not know how to pronounce it!
Oh I would have loved to go but lots of my friends are having babies so will be seeing them!
Love your blog!
