Sometimes the smallest places can have the biggest impact. That’s the case, for me, with this charming Nantucket boat house, that serves as a launching pad for sails and respite for post sail cocktails, which appeared in House Beautiful. Charm, charm and more charm.
There is also something about the blues and the comfortable nature of this tiny abode that you could bring into your landlocked home.
I’m going to see if I can spot this quaint little spot.
You see, I’m headed to Nantucket for the first time in August…and have lots of great recommendations for lunches or dinners (which means I’ll need to walk and bike…a lot!).
The Galley, Lola and Lola Burger, No 1., Cru, The Boarding House, Summer House, Toppers, American Seasons, Pearl, Slip 14 and a few more.

Is that the cutest thing ever? So well done and then the icing on the cake is of course that it's on Nantucket! We haven't been in a few years, last time was for such a beautiful wedding…..we are due back for sure.
Hope you enjoy, sounds like you have gotten lots of wonderful recommendations. Cannot wait to hear all about it, and know you are going to have a fabulous time! Hope your summer days are going wonderfully, scary to think we will be in August in about a weeks time…..enjoy every wonderful summery moment:)
This is so cozy. You could imagine waking up to the sun streaming in and the breeze filtering through the house. And yet it would be the perfect place on a stormy day to snuggle down with a book. Very nice.
Elizabeth, do stop by our favorite flower shop, Flowers on Chestnut, and say hi to Michael the owner for us. We love Nantucket and it's laid back vibe!

Small but seriously stylish! I LOVE every inch!!! I'd be very happy there. Hope you are enjoying your summer, Elizabeth. Cheers
My family had a home on Main Street for many years and I still get there as often as I can — often on our sailboat. A very special place in the world. A bit crowded in August, but you can still find stretches of empty beaches if you're willing to explore and drive off the beaten path. Speaking of paths — great bike paths all over the island make it easy to explore.
Definite must — bike out to Something Natural (just outside of town) for the best sandwiches. Eat at one of the picnic tables outside of the house/bakery or order it to go and bring it to the beach with you. All sandwiches made to order, breads, cookies, brownies made on-site — a half sandwich feeds one person (it's the size of a regular whole sandwich made elsewhere). Turkey salad on herb bread is the best. Just before you head home, stop by here and pick up some bread to bring home — but keep it in the fridge/freezer as it doesn't have any preservatives and will spoil quickly.
Best ice cream — The Juice Bar — long lines, but worth the wait.
I am heading to Nantucket in a week, we go every August for 3 weeks and was just dealing with reservations. Galley Beach is great for dinner and then hanging outside after and having a cocktail…or two! American Seasons is my favorite restaurant by far…the Pearl is also delicious. Lola is great for dinner and drinks as well and has a really fun vibe. Dune is also worth checking out. Downyflake is a must especially with the kids, they make the most devinedonuts fresh every morning and are to die for. One of the places the children in my rather large family that head to the island can't wait for is dinner at Jetties on the beach. They love to run around while we have apps and drinks and there is always acoustic live music. Also do not miss Millies in Madaket…sunset is a bit of a touristy thing to do but it is beautiful and their tacos are insanely good.Take a ride out to Bartlett Farm, it is so pretty and they have the best selection of fresh fruit, veggies and prepared foods for the beach. I could go on and on but as someone that has spent a lot of time on the island these are really worth a visit.
