Our little family took a road trip to Boston this weekend. We didn’t see everything we (ok, I) wanted, but we enjoyed the best of Boston’s history (the Freedom Trail), walked the hallowed halls of Harvard and cheered on the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Basically…a perfect boys’ weekend.
From stories of war, battles, massacres and famous tombstones, this visit was also perfectly timed for Halloween.
One way I kept my 13 year old involved and interested throughout our tour was to hand him my camera. He’s taking Photography as an elective at school and I noticed he has a really great eye. Enjoy our day through Carter’s eyes!
If you have children and are planning a trip to Boston, I definitely recommend doing a private tour through the Freedom Trail Foundation . The tour guides are dressed as 18th century historical figures and lend a little flair to the history lesson. Some friends recommended it to me and my boys loved seeing Boston this way!
What did you do this weekend?!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to my hometown!
Love Boston and that you had a wonderful time there with your boys. We had a busy weekend full of great fun, dinner at friends in the city, a swim meet on Saturday, Soccer on Sunday and a simple supper.
Already, Tuesday and the week is rolling along full of adventures!

Love seeing Boston through a child’s eyes – one of our favorite cities with so much to see. Looking forward to seeing you later this week!
