This past weekend, we were in the bucolic area of Litchfield County, CT visiting our son at school. The drive is always charming, as you weave around family farms and rolling hills, but it was particularly beautiful with the leaves in hues of crimson, pumpkin and marigold.
We stayed at the historic Falls Village Inn, which was recently decorated by local resident, Bunny Williams! The staff was warm and welcoming and we loved the Tap Room where you can get a bite to eat and a drink…it was buzzing with locals both nights. This would be a great option if you are Leaf Peeping in the Fall or attending Trade Secrets in the Spring.
My son’s school had a dazzling array at the entrance of the main building. It just goes to show that groupings en masse really do have incredible impact.
We rounded out our visit with dinner at our favorite restaurant…the Tap Room at the White Hart Inn. This is another wonderful place to stay when you’re in the area.
Our last morning, we stopped by Sweet Williams for coffee and the most delicious scones.
So, whether you’re driving through or hiking the nearby Appalachian Trail, you will find warm hospitality and breathtaking views at every turn!
