This past weekend, I attended the NYC Wellness Summit known as In Goop Health. Founded by Gwyneth Paltrow, aka GP, it was a day full of positivity, inspiration, mindfulness, beauty and fun.
From the minute we arrived, everything was impressively organized, incredibly well staffed and consistently branded. Before we arrived, we had selected one word to represent our focus for the day and when we arrived there were bracelets from MyIntent for each us with our word. Mine was calm. Major brands, such as Keds and Lululemon, partnered with Goop and representatives from some of their best sellers were on hand to talk about their cult products. I had an amazing conversation with Vintner’s Daughter founder, April Gargiulo, and had my make up done by GlamSquad.
The food throughout the day was phenomenal, as you might expect. It was replenished throughout the day, so there was always something new to try. Guilt-free, I might add!
Each participant got to select their own workshops, breaks and classes. After a group gathering with GP herself, a meditation with Gabrielle Bernstein, and a chat with Caroline Myss, we were all off. I started with a goop Skin-Care Master class, followed by Slow Flow Yoga with Chelsea Jackson Roberts. After that I participated in a creativity workshop with Ingrid Fetell Lee, author or Joyful. Talks by Sally Kohn on Conflict and Connection and Laura Day and Laura Lynne Jackson on Intuition followed. My last class of the day about Superfoods with renown dietician, Keri Glassman, was a delight.
The day wrapped up with a panel of women entrepreneurs, who are all making strides in the clean beauty area. Gucci Westman, Elle Macpherson and Gregg Renfrew (founder of Beautycounter) shared what made them passionate about their work. Finally, GP interviewed Ariana Huffington and Demi Moore in an honest and open discussion about social media and the affects it has on our youth.
I am so grateful that Gwyneth has created this venue and that I was able to attend. The take aways were many, not to mention the incredible swag bag and goodies that I brought home. Above all, it was a reminder to take time out to focus on things you care about and want more of in your life.
If you have the chance to attend….I would definitely recommend that you do!
