Linda’s at Bergdorf Goodman

ll3I remember the first time I saw Linda Fargo in person at Bergdorf Goodman. She was in the restaurant on the 7th floor, sitting in the robin’s egg blue “conversation chairs” by the window, wrapping up a photo shoot. After she left, the host sat us at that table. My mom and I were like two school girls we were so excited.

Since that day, I’ve caught a glimpse of her in the store, but mainly in the fashion magazines and front row at Fashion Week. She’s iconic. Not only does she have her signatrue silver bob and red lips, but she has STYLE. In spades. Which is why she now has her own stand alone shop within the store….Linda’s.

Just imagine if one of the most original, fashionable and creative tastemakers in the world curates her favorite things in the store and puts them in one place. That’s Linda’s closet! Located on the 4th floor, I now have another reason to take a spin through this fantasy-level, one-of-a-kind shop within a shop.Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 11.00.34 PMhead_long_042917_01 l9 l10Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 11.02.13 PM l12 l13Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 11.02.37 PM l15 l21 l23 l24 linda ll4 ll7 ll11 ll12 ll17Screen Shot 2017-05-14 at 10.48.22 PMHow much fun would it be to try to walk in Linda’s shoes, literally, for an afternoon! I’ll try to get there soon so I can share more inside pics!

Shop to Know – The Maryn

bedroomWhat is it about the water that we find so calming?

Well, Michelle Adams, of Domino fame, has recently launched a new business, The Maryn (meaning of the sea), which celebrates all the best aspects of laid-back seaside holiday. Michelle believes that we can bring those elements into our homes so that we can breathe, unwind and get back to our roots.

Michelle sought inspiration from her favorite seaside spots: Sausalito, Montauk, the south of France and the shores of Lake Michigan.

She’s partnered with favorite artists and makers, such as Caitlin McGauley and Julie Terestman to offer exclusive prints, textiles and ceramics. There is a lot to love and it’s the type of things you’ll have forever. As a magazine editor, Michelle found that “trends are fleeting, so I’ve curated pieces that are here to stay.”TheMaryn_CamilleStyles-7FURNITURE hero_lifestyle static1.squarespace-1 static1.squarespace-2 static1.squarespace-3 static1.squarespace-4 static1.squarespaceAnd, I couldn’t help but notice a lot of red, white and blue…which seemed appropriate today.

Check out The Maryn…there’s a lot to love!

Watson Kennedy – Fabulous Seattle Shop

One of the reasons I went to Seattle was to see my wonderful friend, Ted Kennedy Watson. Ted and I met at a blog conference years ago….and over time zones and shared interests became great friends!

Ted is a conniesseur of living a wonderful life. And, his shops, Watson Kennedy, reflect that in their displays, their smells, their music that plays at just the right level and his team’s desire to help you find the perfect gift or element to enhance your own day-to-day.

I had not only become a friend, but a customer over the years and yearned to experience the physical aspects of the shops for myself. Boy, did they deliver. Come…let’s take a tour!

One fun note about all the Veuve Clicquot bottles that line the wall of his 1st Ave shop is that they are all from his 40th and 50th birthday celebrations. How fun is that?! Every time he looks at that wall he’s reminded of great friends and special memories.
Eye candy galore, right?! If you see something you like or need help with a gift, they are just amazing at wrapping and sending, so don’t hesitate if you don’t live in Seattle.
In fact….there should be a box arriving for me any day now!
