Heavenly Hydrangeas

DSC_0400Ask anyone who has hydrangeas. This year has been AMAZING! Last year, not so much.

Like anything that isn’t a sure thing, when it happens it is REALLY good! Growing up in Dallas, TX, I was accustomed to the yard being dried up by July/August. So, I don’t take a summer garden for granted. And, in the Northeast July turns out to be a very good garden month.

As an added bonus, my fountain turned out to be a great holding spot for freshly cut hydrangeas.DSC_0410DSC_0404 DSC_0405 DSC_0406DSC_0408DSC_0410DSC_0407DSC_0411Wishing you a week ahead where everything is in bloom! Happy mid-Summer!!

Hi There Hydrangeas

Have you ever noticed that when you come home from a trip that your garden has made big changes? The kind you may not notice day to day, but seem monumental when you’re gone for a week.

That’s what I came home to this week (after a cruise with 17 members of my family – family reunion at sea, if you will). Hydrangeas bursting everywhere!

This is particularly fun because last year, after a very harsh winter, my hydrangeas didn’t bloom much. Another fun fact about gardens…they are always full of surprises.

A little peek at the hostas…another favorite of mine.

What has surprised you lately?!
