Baubles & Bauble Stockings

I love connecting people. And, I really love connecting people when I know it’s a great match!

My friends had noticed a particular ring I had acquired from a college friend, Caroline Waggoner, who happens to be a certified gemologist and former Christie’s jeweler. She currently lives in Charleston and operates a bespoke jewelry company…specializing in estate and fine jewelry. In other words, she has beautiful pieces you don’t necessarily see in the stores. She can also make anything your heart desires or remake an old piece that you might enjoy more if it was modernized. At better than retail prices!

So, of course, I invited her to come meet my friends! It was such fun watching special pieces find new, forever homes.

She came loaded with sparkly necklaces, rings, bracelets, charms and more. And, if that wasn’t enough, she brought along her new business partner (but old friend), Daphne Lingon, who recently retired from Christie’s after overseeing their jewelry department for 30 years. Talk about industry knoweldge!

As we are approaching the holidays, I thought it might be fun to have Bauble Stockings for sale, along with all the beautiful baubles! Luckily, Kate Stewart, the founder of Bauble Stockings, was on board with that and sent us a selection of these miniature stockings. If you aren’t familiar with them, they are hand stitched by women in Haiti, and are meant to hold the final gift or a clue to the final (most meaningful) gift of Christmas.

I have a collection of nutcracker Bauble Stockings for my family and will do another post that shows those! In my mind…this was another great example of Creative Matchmaking!
