There is a always a place for plaid at Christmas! And, I do love a good tartan.
Over the years, I’ve tried to change things up, for my own enjoyment as well as that of my family. Just when they think they know what to expect…I like to throw in a surprise or two.
One year, I challenged myself to create a new table scape each Sunday in December for our family meals.
This particular table was inspired by the tartan tablecloth from Williams Sonoma and the little red cocottes by Staub. Wine glasses are the classic Spode Christmas and the red water glasses are from Watson Kennedy.
I went with a “woodland” vibe, incorporating dark wood rattan chargers and brown “bamboo” cutlery. I layered in my every day Juliska white dishes and added some charm with green leather jingle bell napkin rings from Bergdorf Goodman. The seasonal greens and pinecone arrangement from Lynch Creek Farm, added a grounded nature to the centerpieces.
And, just for grins…I brought in the “elf”.
Merry Christmas to all!
