Thank you, Ralph Lauren, for bringing your culinary experience to New York!!! I kicked myself when I missed the opportunity to visit your restaurant, Ralph’s in Paris, when we were there in June of 2010. It had just opened and we were even staying in the neighborhood of Saint Germain…yet I felt it was SO American and we were in Paris, so we skipped it. Big mistake!!!
Those lucky folks in Chicago have had your restaurant, RL, since 1999, but I haven’t had a chance to visit Chicago in a number of years.
So, finally….you have taken over the legendary space that used to house La Cote Basque, a bastion of high society in the 1960s. If those walls could talk, we would surely hear great stories from Jacqueline Kennedy, Babe Paley, CZ Guest and Truman Capote!
Now the feel is clubby, masculine and relaxed. I CAN NOT wait to be there, soaking up all of your amazing style. And, I know it will be a snap to get my husband to join me. Now, if I can just get a reservation!
