Lilly Pulitzer x Society Social

lilly_pulitzer_-_7With a Nor’easter looming this week, the thought of sun and sunny things is mighty appealing! So, leave it to Lilly Pulitzer and Society Social (of bar cart fame) for creating an amazing collaboration. Available for one day only – March 18th, – if you spend a certain amount (it’s kind of a lot) at any Lilly boutique or online, you can have a Lilly approved barcart, with accoutraments, for your self!

If you have daughters, it would be the ideal day to shop, so you could make the minimum. Otherwise, use this Palm Beach inspired bar cart styling to create your own version!lilly_pulitzer_-_2 lilly_pulitzer_-_5 lilly_pulitzer_-_6 lilly_pulitzer-_8_85507dc6-5630-4fe0-980a-55d4211818f1In the words of Lilly….”The Lilly girl is always full of surprises. She lives every day like it’s a celebration, never has a dull moment, and makes every hour a happy hour.”

Party in Purple

IMG_8272Finding a starting place for a party is part of the fun. An anniversary,  a favorite food or region, a holiday or season or in this case…a favorite color. Purple! I love it when someone has a favorite color because it is an easy jumping off point for parties and gifts. Not everyone has a favorite color, I have found. And, I think that’s rather interesting.

Here’s a sneak peek at a little party for a friend who loves purple. From the bar cart to the dinner table to the party favors of potted hyacinths….purple was center stage.IMG_8273 IMG_8275 IMG_8276IMG_8277

Do YOU have a favorite color of theme you’d want a party to center around? I’m always looking for inspiration, so please share!

Raise a Glass to the Weekend

What a week! Snow, snow and more snow. Planes skidding off runways. Pileups on the highway. Ice. School cancellations. I think it’s time for a cocktail!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I was styling this earlier in the week. But, I’ve waited until today to break open the champagne!

One of the easiest ways to welcome a new season or holiday is by changing out the things that you use all the time. You don’t have to redecorate the house, but a little ribbon, a little nod, or a little color change can signal something new is about to happen. Obviously, this little vignette was inspired by St Patrick’s Day but you could use whatever you like for inspiration.

Raise a glass to the weekend and as the Irish would say….

May your troubles be less,
And your blessings be more.
May nothing but happiness,
Come through your door.
