Holiday Decor – Outdoor

IMG_7793December is here and so, too, is my holiday decor (at least on the outside), thanks to Cindy Mills and her team at Gardens.  I love a change of seasons and Christmas is one of the best! Each year is a variation on a theme of bright red berries, lit miniature trees and magnolia. This year, instead of an elaborate garland over the door, a simple evergreen was the choice. Some years we go all out, but this year we decided to simplify a little. I think it’s still as impactful…which is a lesson in and of itself.

The red lacquered wreath, from the Magnolia Company, is back again this year, as well as my sleigh bells on the door. Some things I just don’t tire of.IMG_7795

Do you have a traditional way to dress your home? A favorite wreath? I’d love to know!

Home for the Holidays – Part 2

Happy Holidays!!! It’s the first weekend in December, which brings festive parties and Hanukkah for many. My holidays are off to a wonderful start, as the garden club holiday event, Home for the Holidays, which I’ve been working on for many months is now behind me.

I feel blessed to know so many talented women….let me show you what we did!

New this year, a woodland area which displayed terrarium “homes” and magnolia branches hung with glass ornaments. The wood stumps we used for display were repurposed from fallen trees due to Hurricane Sandy.

If you’re still prepping for your own holidays at home, I hope this gives you a dose of inspiration.

May this weekend be the first of many happy times with those you love!!
