Continuing with my Valentine’s theme….I just had to share these darling, heart-motif linens, designed and made in the USA by Biscuit. Founded in 2012 by Bailey McCarthy, Biscuit has filled a void in the bedding market by creating luxury, quality bedding with fun designer prints.

Biscuit has a wide range of colorful, stylish sheets, duvets and pillows in many patterns, but today it’s all about the hearts! Available in blue and pink.Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 7.48.29 PMYou may have seen this photo in the February issue of House Beautiful. You’d have to get a magnifying glass to see the Grace pattern, named for Bailey’s daughter, on the bed, but you can see how well it works overall when incorporated into a sophisticated setting .Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 8.09.22 PM Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 8.30.05 PMScreen Shot 2017-01-12 at 7.48.35 PM Screen Shot 2017-01-12 at 8.32.32 PMLest you think the heart print only belongs in a young girls room….I have it on my master bed and smile everytime I pull back the covers.

Sweet dreams!

S B Long Interiors

A short while back, I had the privilege of touring a friend’s recently completed new home. Her previous home had been beautifully done, so I knew this would be fun. I had no idea. I. Was. Blown. Away.
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw this photo of the mudroom, which is where I entered. Wow!
The tour continued, with my jaw firmly affixed to the ground. Every room stunning. Transitions from room to room seamless. Thoughtful details throughout. And I was immediately intrigued about the interior designer, Susan Bednar Long. Little did I realize that I had seen her award winning designs in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful,  Luxe Magazine and D Magazine. Susan has left the East Coast for my hometown of Dallas, Texas and she is racking up the accolades.

Like witnessing a perfectly choreographed ballet, there is a combination of excitement and awe that comes over you when you walk through a home that is so incredibly designed. The perfect blend of livable comfort and artistic delight. A designer like Susan makes it look so easy. You and I both know it is not.

How do you strike the balance between comfort and aesthetics?

Rye House Tour – Magazine Worthy

Spring is house tour season. I have always loved getting to see thoughtful design and exceptional styling up close…as if you’re walking through the pages of your favorite shelter magazine.
My town is hosting it’s bi-annual home tour on Friday, May 16th and you’re all invited! These are some sneak peeks of the houses you could walk through, learn about and be inspired by.

All the houses are beautiful! There’s the jewel box that is decorated with an eye for detail. The waterfront property sheathed in a sophisticated subtle palette. And, a very special home that’s already been deemed magazine worthy. House Beautiful worthy! Do you remember this house from the February issue of House Beautiful, decorated by interior designer, Sara Gilbane? It will be one of the 5 homes on tour that day. I originally wrote about it here.

My house was on this very tour 5 years ago, and opening up my home and myself led to the start of this blog. So, as I tour these very special homes, it is with the recognition that you’re touring someone’s inner sanctum. Which in turn, inspires your own.

To purchase tickets, get information on the houses, directions and more go to Rye House Tour.

Will I see you in Rye?!
