Christmas at Home

IMG_7811Just a quick little post today, as I’ve been a little preoccupied with wrapping, more wrapping, decorating and embellishing (as my mother likes to say). As we head into the Christmas week and 2 weeks filled with festivities, I want to wish you much merriment and very little stress. We all have it. Too much to do and time running out. But, I’m trying to “pause” and enjoy things. I didn’t drag out every decoration I own this year and yet the house feels dressed and ready.

From the Reed & Barton silver holly bells hanging from the dining room chandelier to the reindeer that I seem to gravitate toward. Holly and greenery are tucked here and there. The tree is as done. And, most of the presents are bought (and wrapped). And, that’s ok. I used to get sick every December, with great predictability. But, the last couple of years, I haven’t. Knock wood. I think it’s because I’m slowing things down. It doesn’t have to be perfect…it just has to be done enough to make you happy.IMG_7846 IMG_7848 IMG_7849 IMG_7851Make sure that after you’ve taken care of everyone else, you take care of yourself! That is the best gift of all!

Merry Christmas!!
