The Birthday Party Project

I love a party…especially a birthday party. And, I REALLY love throwing a birthday party for my children or friends. So, I was immediately touched when I learned about The Birthday Party Project. The mission is simple: Bring JOY to homeless children through the magic of birthdays.

About to celebrate it’s 5th birthday, The Birthday Party Project will host over 315 parties this year. I love that Halo Home by KWS will donate party hats for a birthday for each set of their “party hat” cocktail napkins that are sold.  I think this may be my favorite birthday gift for friends this coming year.

In addition, there are many ways you can support this incredible group. Just go to their website to learn more.

Happy Birthday to Pretty Pink Tulips

IMG_5537-1024x1024A champagne and confetti birthday party

I know it’s a cliche, but time flies when you’re having fun!

The past 6 years of writing Pretty Pink Tulips have certainly been fun and though platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram (I haven’t made the jump to Snapchat) seem to have become the new darlings of social media, I’m not quite ready to call it a wrap.

As I looked back on the past year, it became clear that the moments of celebration, travel and friendship were a thread throughout many of my posts. I’ve selected some of my memorable moments/posts from the past year to highlight year 5 and look forward to bringing you new and fresh ideas in the year to come.IMG_6628Neighborhood party in the GardenDSC_0015Pretty pink tulips in bloomIMG_6823A visit to Watson Kennedy, SeattleIMG_6848Dinner on Vashon Island with Ted Kennedy WatsonIMG_6882A Seattle Garden PartyIMG_6970Discovering NantucketEDDIE_ROSS-3_hires-1024x683Book Party for Modern Mix, by Eddie Ross & Jaithan Kochar

When you hit a milestone of any kind….birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc…I highly recommend looking back on what you’ve accomplished. You will probably be pretty surprised and equally pleased.

Thank you to each of you who have followed along on this creative journey. It feels like it’s just getting started!

I love these mason jar cakes from Jars By Dani, which are taking NYC by storm! And, now they can deliver nationwide. If you have the time and the creativity, by all means, create your own. But, if you need a bunch for a celebration, check out all her options, including ones for Valentine’s Day!angle_original-fudge_1024x1024
